"Worldwide Magazine Distribution Ltd (WWMD) is a joint venture business owned by the major UK news wholesalers. The activities of WWMD compliment the services offered by the news wholesalers. The core business for WWMD is the supply of British published magazines to niche and specialist retailers here in the UK, and globally in all four corners of the world. A typical customer of WWMD takes a title or limited range of titles in support of their store core offering. Or customers do not retail newspapers, and take a limited range of titles. Examples of customers be it multiple or independents are - Music stores, Gaming stores, DIY and Garden centres, Vintners, Chandlers, Model shops etc. The potential customer base is limitless as all retailers have the potential to offer/stock a specialist range of magazines.
Approximately 20% of our current business is in supplying specialist outlets and other distributors overseas. As in the UK, the services of WWMD are there to compliment, not compete with the traditional routes to market.
This business continues to grow and evolve; another significant area of recent growth is in providing additional Publisher Services in particular with regard to transport, logistics, and the direct supply of product to retailer/business addresses across the UK.
WWMD is currently supplying circa 5,000 outlets as customers with magazines, we do however distribute to circa 15,000 different outlets, with product direct for the publishers. We can say with pride: We are the leading distributor of magazines to niche and specialist outlets in the UK
